The Toho Gakuen School of Music is an educational facility designed to support performance, rehearsal, and academic study within a cohesive architectural environment. The project emphasizes acoustic sensitivity, spatial clarity, and material restraint, creating an atmosphere that supports both concentration and artistic expression.
Role: Architectural Design Intern
Focus: Concept development support, modeling, visual studies, spatial refinement

The process
The building needed to accommodate highly specialized acoustic spaces while maintaining architectural cohesion across classrooms, rehearsal rooms, and circulation areas. Key challenges included:
Supporting strict acoustic requirements
Creating calm, focused learning environments
Managing light within performance-sensitive areas
Ensuring structural clarity without visual noise
The design required a careful balance between technical performance and architectural presence.
